Founder Heather Ross McManus first competed in artistic gymnastics, later specialized in trampoline gymnastics, and represented Canada for 15 years on the international stage, including the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. Heather continued to perform in the Spring Action Trampoline Show until 2025.

After discovering IWA gymnastics shoes at the World Chamionships in Denmark in 2001, Heather wore the IWA 302 shoes at every competition and show that followed.

Over the years Heather helped many teammates and friends buy shoes which were not readily available in North America, leading her to incorporate GymSlippers.ca Ltd in 2009.

Today Heather's family continues to operate GymSlippers.ca Ltd. as a service to the trampoline and gymnastics community in Canada. We are a very small business on the side of our full time jobs, so there are no full time staff.  We still aim to have all sizes and styles in stock and ready to go, and shipments are processed every week.
